it will help the fish
A fishing rod has been known to anglers for a long time, over several centuries it has evolved from a simple juniper rod to a modern structure that has dozens of modifications – with and without coils, with brakes of various kinds, all kinds of whips, nods and, finally, mormyshki of all imaginable sizes and colors.
But I see my task not in describing the history and features of fishing rods existing today, but in attracting as many beginning anglers to winter fishing as possible. I will try to save them from making many mistakes and help to overcome the difficulties that he once encountered.
Of course, I do not pretend to be the ultimate truth, since tackles for winter fishing will continue to be improved – stronger and lighter fishing rod materials, thin and strong fishing lines, hooks and mormyshki of new generations, and most importantly, new ideas and developments. Continue reading
There, on the border …
I probably won’t discover America if I say that roach is distributed in flocks according to the size of individuals. In spearfishing, I had to observe how, on the border of open water and algae, huge shoals of small roach move in search of food, like scurrying in the grass or near snags, not so numerous, but larger and more cautious individuals, and how they hide in dark, dark places, solid samples in the roughnesses of the bottom. The latter in small and medium rivers, small lakes and reservoirs are kept in small groups. Such groups may include five to seven individuals, occasionally a little more. In large rivers, lakes and reservoirs, large flocks of large roach are not uncommon. Continue reading
Initially, the only reliable way to perform long-range casting when fishing on a fishing rod was such that the equipment was gradually carried away by the flow to the desired distance. But technical thought did not stand still, and with the advent of inertialess coils, using artificial materials for the manufacture of rods, the true birth of gear for long casting occurred. At present, long casting is understood as a fishing method in which the length of the line from the tip of the rod to the float is several times the length of the rod itself.
As in the spinning rod, the rod for long casting should be equipped with through-rings and inertialess reel. It is desirable that its length be in the range of 3.7 – 4 m with 12 to 16 access rings with high legs. Continue reading
