Winter fishing of a bream without a nozzle
The bream is an enviable and desirable trophy at any time of the year for most anglers in central Russia. Muscovites follow him to the Istra, Ruzskoye, Ozerninskoye, Vazuzsko-Yauzskoye reservoirs, as well as the Uglich, Rybinsk and Moscow seas. Some rivers of the Moscow Region are also rich in bream – the Volga, Oka, Protva, Pakhra, Dubna and others.
Quite a lot is known about summer bream bream. It has its own specific features, which is the subject of a separate discussion. Winter bream fishing traditionally suggests that at first it is plentifully fed in several holes with a small bloodworm, and then they begin to “hatch” around these holes for a long time. In this case, three main systems of tackle equipment are used: “float – sinker-hook”, “float – mormyshka”, “nod – mormyshka”. Catch, as a rule, on a motionless tackle, planting bloodworms.Such fishing, accompanied by frequent breaks, and sometimes libations, is too passive and boring.
We are talking about catching a bream exclusively “for playing,” that is, on a mormyshka without bloodworms, only with the hooking of artificial materials on its hook.
I think that although bait can play a positive role in the breeding of bream, it is still more important to detect the accumulation of fish in some part of the reservoir. Then fishing will be successful and without bait, which may be needed only to delay in place a quickly leaving flock of bream.
On reservoirs, the bream is kept near vast pits, flooded riverbeds and ravines, where the depth exceeds 5 meters, and rarely goes to smaller places. Sometimes in strong thaws and in the spring rises to fresh water, it costs halfway. On the rivers, this fish adheres to the channel part of vast, deep-water reaches with a weak current.
In accordance with these conditions, the elements of gear are selected. The recommendations below can be adjusted based on the general situation in the water body, weather patterns, fish activity, and even taking into account the temperament of the angler himself.
Since it is necessary to catch, attracting fish only by playing an artificial bait, its movements should imitate the movement of natural food objects, familiar to fish. As observations have shown, in the waters of the Moscow Region in winter, fish feed on small crustaceans (cyclops, daphnia, mormysh), bloodworms and other insect larvae: caddis flies, spring grassflies, whiskers, dragonflies, and mayflies. These small organisms move in the water column with the help of rhythmic movements, and each specific type of aquatic organism has its own frequency. It is this type of movement that the game will mimic with a mormyshka, it is important only in each specific case to select the frequency of the game depending on which food object prevails in the diet of the fish of the given reservoir at this time.
To do this, all the elements of the tackle (nod, fishing line, bait) should, if possible, be in perfect harmony with each other. In practice, this means that, for example, the thickness of the fishing line corresponds to both the expected trophy and the depth of the fishing place, the weight of the bait. At the same time, the fishing line and bait together must correspond to the elastic qualities of the nod. In other words, a fishing line that is too thick, with a certain buoyancy, and too light a bait will not allow to reach a great depth, while all the vibrating energy will go into interaction with the fishing line, which in this case will have significant weakness. A nod can be considered suitable for fishing conditions if the bait lowered to the desired depth bends it with its weight not less than 30 degrees from the horizontal position.
A few words about the fishing rod. It should be light, sit well in the hand, not bore the angler. In this sense, fishing rods designed on the principle of “reel-grip” have proven themselves well. It is only necessary that the diameter of the reel be large enough, then there will not be excessive “ringing” of the wound fishing line, it will be possible to quickly reel the fishing line when moving from place to place.
The bream can be caught on any of the known mormyshek, but among them there are the most catchy ones. In the first place I would like to put the bait “nymph”, designed on the principle of fly fishing lures. A heavy version is suitable for catching bream, which is made of tin-lead alloy on a hook No. 3,5, bent in a special way.
