Knowledge of the habits
Everywhere in Russia, where in winter the ponds are covered with ice shells, you can meet near the holes of fishing anglers. We still have enough fish in lakes and rivers in Altai. The farther you leave from settlements, the richer the catches. But poaching networks are everywhere; many of them are placed by overgrown peasants of no fixed abode, living in dugouts and drinking their catches. And recently, electricity has also been added to the networks. Fish is cautious, ignores many baits. And in such conditions, non-nozzle mormyshka is very popular. The center of its development was Barnaul, where by the end of the seventies, up to eighty percent of winter-anglers fished or learned to fish without a nozzle. At Kazennaya Zaimka, a channel located on the outskirts of the city, up to six thousand people gathered over three wintering pits over the weekend, catching the scammer on the legendary “little devil”. Pike perch is schooling, actively moving in a large area of the reservoir. Chasing him, constantly changing fishing places, is not always justified. Much more rational, knowing the seasonal, daily migration of predator flocks, wait for it in a certain place and at a certain time. For each reservoir, whether it is a river, lake or reservoir, the schedule for zander to reach very specific and favorite places in established weather runs with an accuracy of 1 to 10 minutes.
Since mid-July, pike perch activity in reservoirs has been falling sharply, biting has shifted to night time and does not occur more often than once every one to two days. In rivers, zander is more active throughout the entire period of open water; but, starting in July, confidently pecks only at night. Continue reading
The need to cast heavy (80-100 grams) weighed 100 meters or more requires the use of powerful, very rigid semi-parabolic fishing rods. The usual length of a carp fishing rod is 3.5 meters, although some anglers prefer 4.5 meters to increase casting distance. A long but rather rigid rod allows you to send equipment far away without forcing the cast, which means that there is no risk of breaking the fishing line or breaking the fishing rod itself. You can easily recognize carp fishing rods in the display case of a fishing store by the short-handle reel holder extended far ahead. The other handle is located near the butt of the rod. This placement of the handles is dictated by the casting feature: the main effort is on the butt, and the right hand near the reel is just the point around which the rod rotates during casting. Recently, on the shelves of our stores you can find special carp fishing rods from Silstar, D.A.M and others. Continue reading
